ABEC ROUNDTABLE ON COLLECTIVE ACTION AGAINST

COLLECTIVE ACTION AGAINST CORRUPTION.

On 23 September 2026, the African Business Ethics Conference (ABEC) Secretariat, led by Wezesha Biashara Network (WBN), held a private sector-led roundtable on collective action against corruption at I-HIT Offices, Kilimani, Nairobi. The meeting followed a resolution from ABEC 2025 to form a working group that coordinates private sector anti-corruption work in Kenya. It had three aims:

-To validate WBN's mapping of anti-corruption actors and initiatives, and to identify gaps and opportunities.

-To gather input for ABEC 2026, which takes place on 3 December 2026 in Nairobi

-To lay the foundation for an Anti-Corruption Collective Action Working Group (ACAWG).

Participants came from business associations, professional bodies, civil society, youth organisations and the organising partners. Several invited organisations sent apologies, including UNODC, the UN Global Compact and Sanlam Allianz Kenya.
