ABEC 2024 is a premier event dedicated to advancing ethical business practices, transparency, and accountability across the African continent. Scheduled to take place on the 5th of December in Nairobi, Kenya, this conference brings together thought leaders, industry experts, government officials, and stakeholders to engage in discussions, share insights, and drive positive change in the business landscape.
The Africa Business Ethics Conference 2024 focused on the following objectives:
Starting in 2019 with a physical gathering of 222 delegates from Kenya, the USA, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, France and Mauritius, the conference laid its foundations in promoting business integrity across borders. In 2020 the format shifted to a hybrid model, ensuring uninterrupted dialogue despite global disruptions. By 2021, the forum had grown to 430 delegates from an even wider international mix, demonstrating the rising demand for high-level ethics and governance conversation in business. In 2023, ABEC returned to its full physical format, reaffirming the power of in-person connection for driving real change.
In 2024, the 5th edition took place on 5 December in Nairobi under the theme “A Brave New Africa: Business Growth in Times of Economic Turbulence”. This milestone gathering brought together senior leaders from the private sector, government and civil society to confront Africa’s current macro-economic challenges head-on, with ethics and transparency as central pillars for resilient business growth.
At each stage, ABEC has not only expanded in size, but deepened its impact — connecting actors, shaping accountability frameworks and reframing Africa’s business narrative around integrity and sustainable success.
